I remember him as a real trooper. He was never one of the glamourous stars, but more an honest, no nonsense, old fashioned defender. On occasion he was a very successful goal getter, but he preferred to do the more unspectacular, dour work. Looking at the City site yesterday evening, I read that he had the greatest medal count of any City player of all time. He was very much one of the workers, who allowed the stars to shine. I was sorry to read of his early death.
