Yes, the early T-Birds (1955 was the first year for them) had drum brakes... I don't believe that Ford used disc brakes until the mid 60s... I recall that the '66 Mustang GT had a little round emblem on the brake pedal that read "disc brakes" so I'm thinking it was around '66 that Ford started using them on their cars...
