I am indeed female (and married, too, BTW). I'm (usually) in Sheffield -- so not too far from York -- but am in the US visiting family at the moment, so the swim is more than I'm up for right now; maybe another time...

A lot of folks seem to think Yorkshire Yankee sounds like a guy's nick. I picked it because I'm a Yank living in Yorkshire, so it seemed a logical choice (& had a bit of a ring to it, which I liked).
