How embarrassing. Someone made the comment about that's what happens when people are raised in front of their televisions, so very true. I can tell you however as someone who saw Bonnie in her early years, people listened back then. I do believe that the more popular you become the ruder your audience becomes as well. The fans are out numbered by the "it's something to do" people.
