The only thing to surprise me is that the story has got out and that Murdoch's bully boy lawyers have not yet managed to suppress the story. In the past, thugs like Robert Maxwell, Jonathon Aitken, Jeffrey Archer and Cecil Parkinson have usually been able to intimidate proper journalists into silence. God how I miss Paul Foot sometimes!
