Subject: RE: What's left to sing about...
My goodness! There is so much to write about! I'm 2/3rds done with my song about the dinosaur named Sue (no joke, there really is one) I performed one I wrote at a festival this summer about what wonderful worlds you can find in Library books. I'm writing a song about a man and his spinnaker (quick! get out the OED!), and another one about being creatures of habit.

I write both children's songs and songs for the older kids (us'ns). Instead of thinking in such big categories (like social justice or other world problems as suggested above) look around and see what is right in front of you. Write about sights and sounds and connect them with people. Paint a verbal picture. Make a whimsical rhyme! Write about what tickles your funnybone. Write about what irks you. The possibilities are endless....Margo
