The US gave the world (including, sadly, the UK) the Big Mac. Up to now, I didn't realise that it was revenge for 1950's and 60's British sports cars. How imaginative of you!

GM = General Motors - perhaps that's why we are all told to beware of GM foods (MacDonalds Division) !
