In the UK for example, the Labour govt....like the Conservative govt before it, was complicit in the deregulation of the banking system to give the illusion of REAL growth in the economy.

When the illusion became apparent by the collapse of major US banks, we have being forced to pay for their crimes.

But no one is talking about what happens when every penny has bee squeezed out of us......what do we put in place of the present failed system?......Oh I forgot, "something will turn up"
