Yeah....unlike almost any other injury, with burns you just lay there and HURT......So you had a Minx huh....Loved those little bastards!!! A wolf in sheep's clothing like the older Bimmers.HEY NAES!!! Starting in '65, I had a whole run of Brit bikes: Two Lightnings, a Commando, Two Bonnevilles, and a Trident. I always hated Harleys and the Japanese stuff was tiny. Plus, the British stuff handled SOOOO well...great frames. But that damn buzzy vibration and the constant oil leaks drove me nuts. In 69, BSA added the automatic chain oiler which just added to the mess. I bought a new Lightning and on the ride home, one horn vibrated off, the pipes turned blue (always did), and my back had a HUGE oily streak down the middle from the chain oiler.
When the Honda 750 hit, I still resisted for another couple years. One night on the Norton, I ran over some railroad tracks and the damn thing just quit. Blew a main fuse. Found the problem, but decided I'd had it and bought a Honda. Then I bought the second 903 Kawa sold in the state. Great bike of course and I've been riding the big bore riceburners ever since......Nice old Sabre out in the garage....Exceeds all legal speed limits in first gear.
