Becca, how developed is Stewart? As in does he have hair and are his eyes open? If he's at that stage, he may not adjust to life in captivity. I tried keeping a deer mouse once, and it just went catatonic until I released it back outside. If he's still really young, you may have to take a Q-tip dipped in warm water and stroke his lower belly so he'll poop.
