We took part in a benefit concert last night for the UU church in Brunswick ME that suffered severe fire damage a few weeks ago.

Even without vocal chords my amazing husband had the audience in the palm of his hand and got some of the loudest applause of the evening. Quite a number of people came up to him after the show to say how much they enjoyed his performance.

This procedure would be wonderful if it gives him more voice, even just on a temporary basis, but, IMHO, that would be the icing on the cake - he can still cut it just as he is.
