After two days recuperating: Did one load of laundry yesterday and hung it on our wonderful "new" clothes line. Hung it AFTER the wonderful but short rain storm!

Today, I exchanged the excess self-hardening clay for my favourite dark clay and drove directly to the cabin to get my hands into it. Spent a couple hours organizing and putting a shelf unit together, took a meal break then threw 7 bowls on my "new" pottery wheel. Love the clay, love my kick wheel, made by the same man who built the one I left in the NW - because it sat outside for a year thanks to my sudden move and high winds, etc. Then a meal break and it was time to come back to the city. The bridge we use is one-way most of each day, geared to commuters: to the city in the am until 9:45 and from the city in the afternoon until 7:45. Home at 8 pm.

Checked through emails. thinking about what I can/need to present to the SPCA on Friday. Hmmm. I can copy some of their web pages to file and make changes and additions!

The TV says we are not having a heat wave because it has not hit 30C. I consider anything over 70F a heat wave! You guys further south.... KEEP COOL!! Sunday someone was telling me her strategy - She fills the bathtub with cool water and gets into it every couple hours to cool her body core. Adds water as needed. Some of us could plan our lives like that. I find just the water I use when potting - dipping my hands constantly - really helps. OR, if reading or other seated activity, sitting with feet in a basin of cool water makes a big difference. When gardening on hot days in PA, I would wear a wet t-shirt.
