Thread Name: ADD: Tooth-Pickin' Time in False Teeth Valley
Subject: Lyr Add: Tooth-Pickin' Time in False Teeth Valley
This is from a performer named Robert Lunn. The fellow who sent me the mp3 said that he had only this version and not that done by H and J. And, he thinks the second and third stanza are reversed as compared to the way H and J did them.

Tooth-Pickin' Time in False Teeth Valley

There's a valley satisfyin'
Down in sunny Caroline
Where the people wear their false teeth by the score
They ain't got no teeth to eat
Only cornbread and fat beef
'cause they had 'em pulled out forty years before

(Refrain) When it's tooh pickin' time in False Teeth Valley
All the ladies get their toothpicks out at night
After supper in the evenin' by the moonlight
They pick their store-bought teeth with all their might

Once for supper I was late
But they didn't hesitate
They just went right on tuh eatin' all the grub
But there's one thing that I hate
I had lost my upper plate
And the bottom one was worn down to a nub.

Refrain

Music break

There's a girl named Lucy Locket
Wears her false teeth in her pocket
Too darn big to eat with don't you see
When I take her out to dine
Why I always lend her mine
'Cause I had them tailor-made for her and me

Refrain

END

I apologize. I cannot make out the two words where the ---- ---- are in the song. I'll run the mp3 by a friend tomorrow and see what he thinks.

I thank Mr Mueller for the mp3.

PS I have an upper plate, and having darned near flushed them down the toilet once, I understand where this song is comin' from. Best to you, and I'll post the two missing words if I can figure 'em out.
