Yeah, it's kinda like "the alleged corpse" or "the alleged bludgeoning death."

I mean, come on. A corpse is a corpse, of course, of course, and no one can talk to a corpse of course...but it's not "alleged." Neither is the guy with his head bashed in an "alleged bludgeoning death." You can arrest the "alleged murderer", but danged few people commit suicide by beating themselves to death. Ah, well, that's PC these days.
