This has always been the most troublesome of songs for me. I think it is simply beautiful, yet I despise what it stands for - the night is over. Argh- I always want to believe that there is time for "one more". The melody of the older is very similar to parts of "Brian Boru's March". The version used in "Waking Ned Devine" (a great film) is quit different, but, if possible, even mor beautiful. So many songs, so many tunes, and so little time.
