Many of my Prisoners used to laugh when I talked about begging. They said the last thing they wanted were bloody sandwiches or a Coke. They wanted dosh for a heroin wrap, or enough to get a bottle of cheap cider. But other beggars may of course be in different circumstances. I have seen the most appalling things in West Africa, which make our own beggars look like kings.
