I remember Augusts in Sacramento when we'd have 20 days over 100 degrees - we'd usually have at least 15 days over 100 degrees. One time, I tried to fry an egg on the sidewalk. I learned that hard way that this is not an advisable process. It's a hell of a thing to clean up.

Now I'm in the Sierra foothills, 45 minutes outside Sacramento, and it's always 10 to 20 degrees cooler. Just now, I'm listening to a 2003 album by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason called Relax Your Mind. It's about as cool as a recording can get. Ahhhhh!
