No, he shouldn't be ashamed of making a joke. There is no joke that is too far. The fact that you didn't believe him should have been a clue that it ws a joke. I didn't laugh, but I don't judge... unless it's a really piss poor joke, of course. Even then, I TRY to just judge the joke. If that's what you were doing, I apologize.
