Dave ~ I also prefer food, however at the time I was making $147 a month and sent one hundred of that to the bank. Forty seven bucks just didn't go very far in Calif. in those days. A meal (er whatever)at White Castle for less than fifty cents was not to be denied. Usually after the chow I would go to the "Gaiety" theater in Long Beach and for a measly twenty five cents I could watch (sleep through) movies all night. The only problem was that they would kick all us sailors and other "dead beats" out around seven thirty so they could hose the place down and start another 24 hours of continuous movies.Cap't Bob
