Many years ago, I became aware of the very talented French singer Denise Le Brun when her one-woman show aired on Public Television here in New York City. She specialized in the works of Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel.

I don't know if she still performs (or, indeed, if she's still alive), but articles on the Internet indicate she played an engagement here in the States as recently as 2007 when she was 71.

I have fond memories of her TV special, and wish that I had owned a VCR back then. She was an impressive singer.
