I went to Home Depot yesterday for a couple of items. I now have another of those 15' hose segments to run into the garden to the Y thing that my soaker hoses are attached to. It used to be easy to reach but everything is so overgrown now it's an adventure to hook a hose to it. So now this extension runs out of the garden to the driveway and I'll put the garden hose onto this to use the soakers in the veggie garden.

I also picked up a big (and very light weight) sheet of closed cell foam insulation (kind of a huge sheet of Styrofoam, but it's a different plastic and it's pink.) It was too long for the bed of the pickup so I pulled the back window down over it (I have a camper shell) and used a bungee to hold it shut, hooking it over the end of the pink plank to keep it in the truck. No way I'm going on the freeway or this could go airborne, so I took the frontage road. At the point where I crossed through a low-water crossing on the road the thing was jostled enough that the bungee came loose and when I went back for it (I was near home so delivered the plank first) I saw it in the middle of a large busy intersection. I pulled through, parked, walked back and pushed the pedestrian crosswalk button and was able to walk into the road and get it. Whew! Big expensive bungee adventure! If it had been one of the little cheap ones I might not have gone back for it.

The insulation will be used to form a vault kind of box that fits into my fireplace. I'm tired of the heat and cold that comes in despite the flue being closed.
