Does it still matter where your CDs are? Back in the olden days, I was told that you wanted the CD player in the trunk because it would skip less. Nowadays, I hear that the skipping issue is moot, new technology prevents the skipping anyway (I think by playing a little behind where it really is, or something). Anyway, now that I have a car worthy of putting a CD player in, it seems as if all the indash ones eliminate cassette players, so I have a reason to have it in the trunk from that point of view - but what about from the technical point? Does it really matter?
