Event 5 Sat 8th October 11am-12.30
Playing Tunes in Parts led by
SPARE PARTS CONCERTINA BAND
Music Provided
The Elephant & Castle, White Hill
Advance tickets 4 Door 6

The music for this can now be downloaded from the Spare Parts Concertina Band website in midi and pdf forms. The MIDI files have normal and slow versions of the full arrangements and of each part separately. Each tune is played three times. The PDF files have versions with the third line in the Treble clef to be played an octave down and in the Bass clef.

These are three-part arrangements of three tunes from the seminal Sussex Tune Book (1982) edited by Vic Gammon & Anne Loughran, containing a selection of tunes from Sussex manuscripts. They aren't in the Lewes Favourites Tune Book.

The tunes are :-

A Sussex Waltz, Sussex Tune Book no. 104 (not Michael Turner's)
The Grinders, Sussex Tune Book no. 113(differs quite a lot from the standard version)
The Troublesome Cossack, Sussex Tune Book no. 84

You can download the music without booking a ticket unless you want it sent by post. Booking in advance is 2 cheaper.
