I e-mailed Debby McClatchy, and she didn't recognize the song, so then I called and sang it into her answering machine and she called back just now. I played the John Thompson recording to her over the phone, and she didn't recognize it. Maybe I didn't hear Debby sing this song.
Still, it sure is familiar.
