I share your concerns about the Taybank; it's only worth doing if we decide to do a whole weekend and manage to get the hostel that MaxTone mentioned. If we just want an afternoon and evening session then St.Andrews (assuming we can find a venue) would be better. Edinburgh would be good from a transport point of view and being central, but finding a good venue might be difficult (the Tass?). Anyone got a big enough house we could all crash at for a weekend, oh and with a good local pub we could use as a venue?
