One of my sisters neighbors decided that the best way for him to make his backyard larger was to fill in the drainage ditch in back of his house. He was shocked and suprised when the whole neighborhood flooded when the next big rains came. Also shocked and suprised at the reaction the neighborhood gave him when they found out what he did. His reaction was that "a man's got a right to do what he wants with his own property".
