When I read these vituperative and rather vicious exchanges, I have to smile, as I'm reminded of Monty Python, "Is this a sixpenny argument or a shilling one?" If a shilling one, they set-to even more ferociously. If a sixpenny one, they shook hands and went their seperate ways. Perhaps we need more 'sixpenny' discussions, and to forget the 'shilling' ones!
