Just found this on the Bushmans' site--they are potato people:


"Can I freeze raw potatoes?

No. They will turn black and become soft upon thawing. It's best to pre-cook the potatoes and then freeze them."


I'd suspect that a part of your fridge got cold enough to freeze the NB potatoes but not the US potatoes.
