My favourite line overheard on the midnight bus from young mum of 2 very young musicians. She was trying to get an old 3 wheel baby push chair onto the bus after unlading its contents onto the 2 young uns' "Only 2 kids but 14 million instruments."

My impression is that traditional music is not under any threat of fading away. I saw so many young musicians and dancers from about 5 years old to 25. The other youth there just for the show were being exposed to the music and some will very likely take a more participatory path.
