Thread Name: Sunnycamp 2011 Oct 7-9 Nahcotta WA USA
Subject: SUNNYCAMP 2011 Oct 7-9 Nahcotta WA USA
This will be the official thread. The other is full of maybes.

So it will October 7-9 at Camp Morehead in Nahcotta Washington on Long Beach Peninsula, Washington State USA. It has been held in this small camp most years. NOTE BENE: It is not anywhere near Ocean Shores.

The camp is very rustic and the facility is showing its age, but the natural setting is truly beautiful..right next to the oystering activities. It is about 2 miles from the ocean, and right on Willapa Bay. A lot of the trees had to be cut due to wind damage so it is a bit more bare than before.

It is a small facility, with a main lodge with kitchen, 5 cabins plus one small cabin for anyone with special needs, a bathroom building with a side for men and one for women (you have to spell that out these days because dire predictions have come true about coed bathrooms). There are a couple of other buildings, a ping-pong/rec building and I think a boat building that will be reserved for blue book preferees and instrumentalists.

Cost is $55 for the weekend, Friday through Sunday and includes meals. Friday will be a potluck. The other meals we will rustle up ourselves and clean up after. There will be a professional cleaner at the end of camp so we don't have to stay and clean (thank heavens). We can prorate any number of ways so feel free to come for part of the camp or sleep in a motel next door ($60/night).

The emphasis will be on people who like group singing, without books. THere will be accomodations for people who like singing with books, but especially at night the main lodge will be bookless, except for your personal use. We will keep the recreation/ping pong room reserved for people who like books, but unfortunately it is not heated except for little space heaters..but if the weather is good it should be OK. The facility just does not lend itself to these two different preferred styles, but we will do the best we can with what we have, which is a little 4-H camp.

You can call me at 360-642-8049 for more info or to register. Or you can PM me here or email me at mgxxxxxx@yahoo.com (6 x's.)

It has been a lot of fun in the past, with good food, good singing..modest accomodations. mg
