I have fond memories of Joan, our Rotweiller. Nobody's fool but the sweetest person, as was George. I remember her for her kindness to my Mum, when we all went away together over New Year with the Wooden Horse Folk Club. I particulerly remember the "Plague Hostel" when, one by one, the rest of us went down with flu. They sat together healthy through it all. After all they'd had their flu jab! For several years she wrote to my mother because she understood how lonely life on your own can be.
