If you can draw yourself away from Victoria and its urban pleasures, think about someplace like Long Beach on the western side of Vancouver Island. Just the Pacific, evergreens, and amazing low tide walks among the multi-colored star fish. Good salmon fishing out of Ucluelet nearby, too.
