Google+ differs from other social networks (for now) by decentralizing the connection to others. Circles are only meaningful and accessible by the individual. Putting me in your circle didn't create or define any connection to you for me but it did notify me, which gave me the choice to choose how to connect with you, that is which circle to put you in.

I have insight into G+ and indeed its just another social network right now. However, the next evolution of a social web is for them to allow folks like me to customize, compartmentalize, repurpose and implement their powerful infrastructure to use inside this site to handle the heavy technology, programming, liability, legality, ethics that go along with MEMBERSHIP and the heavy bandwidth stuff we want with audio and video.

Privacy, personal identity and property, freedom of expression, safety and security are volatile topics AND actually very dangerous personal and political issues at this day and age of the development of technology and society, and it is my opinion that its going to get much worse. This is threatening to our autonomy cuz Mom and Pop shops like us can't keep up anymore, and folks like Microsoft make sure of it with bully fear mongering and technical standards manipulation, a la the IE 8 warns that mudcat.org is a dangerous dangerous site (for a different reason that it actually is). Anyway, its a suck hole that this here folky aint got the time for. I'm going to need to partner with the least threatening giant.

So, this is just to take advantage in some nice video sharing that I've been enjoying and feeling inspired by, you don't have to use the other features or engage in anything over there. I'll make a resource right here on mudcat to find each other and connect. And I do believe that the account you create their will have some long term utility here.
