And "Alternate Winfield" sit was set up some years ago, by a fellow rumored to have created and maintained the official one, now maintained(?) by his son if the backroom scuttlebutt is accurate. Links to a number of "Camp Websites" put up by regulars, and although they're rather "dated" by now Don, the creator, made a tour one year and recorded some campground pickin. PREVIOUS MUDCAT THREADS: (I've used full links, so that anyone who wants can access from "off mudcat." In IE, Save As – archive web page .mht will put the page on your drive that will open in your browser with working links. At least it works for me. I assume(?) other browsers can save a thread page in re-usable form.

Add about another 14 years or so before those when I was there, but I think 2003 was our first post about it at the 'cat. Several of those threads show a bunch of "related threads."

Oh yeah, National Weather Service - Hydrological Prediction Service - Walnut River - Winfield is where you check to see if the river's behaving. (See the "Festival Hazards" thread?) Looks really calm now. (16 ft is flood stage.)
