Being in the "don't own" camp, my observation would be that the players I know appear to be more for dedicated hardware, eg. I know several with something like a Zoom H2 and clip on chromatic tuners are common.

Personally, I think if I was looking for more advanced music apps and having something at least relatively portable, I'd probably be investigating the Tablet computer market rather than the smart phone one.
