I was going to mow the lawn. The last time I did was 2 weeks ago, and I think I aggravated some nerves. Luckily, it's been dry enough so the grass hasn't grown much.

I had strategically placed a copper wire-covered pot scrubber blocking where I think mice were getting into the engine housing of my lawn mower. I held the thing down with an iron bar of some sort. For extra luck, I balanced some moth balls on top of the scrubber thing. I got very tired of cleaning mouse nests off the engine (with a straw, a metal chopstick, and needle-nose pliers) through a tiny hole every time I had to mow, and then still ending up with some pre-ignition (and smoke, and smouldering stuff) because I didn't get it all.

I'm going to wait until it cools off some, but my mouse-thwarting apparatus was still in place--even the moth balls. My neighbor's cat, who's great at outside mice and oblivious to shed mice, was sleeping peacefully under my car.
