Morgan and I had a really wonderful time Wednesday past when ClairBear, her son, and her friend came through town. They were on a "9-day wander" as she called it...driving from California, to various natural wonders which led them through this area. M and her son got along wonderfully and had a blast in our backyard, weeds, high 90s and all. We had the house reasonably picked up, swept, dishes done, etc. I told them the books were dusty, the corners dirt-filled, and it is a work in progress. I thought I'd be a bit embarrassed, too, SRS, but it was great..no worries and they were all very gracious and kind. We had a wonderful lunch out at my fav. Mexican restaurant.

As a consequence, we actually didn't have to do any of the usual, today. So, we took the dog to a huge dog park with a pond. We kept her on a 25 foot lead as it would have been very hard to chase her down if she got too excited and wouldn't come. She is great at coming in our yard, but not knowing how she'd be with other dogs, we didn't want to take any chances. Rog took her for a long walk around the pond which she was not interested in, but her nose was working overtime and she was okay with a few galumphing pals who came to say "Hi!" A gentleman sitting in his truck waiting for his wife struck up a conversation with us about dogs, horses, Russia...he was very interesting. Offered us a 12 year old mustang!! IF I only had somewhere to keep it!!!

Yesterday morning we went to my brother's with the company truck which Rog helped him load with a couple of bookshelves, trunks, and kitchen table. Took them over to his new place. I will also be taking loads over for him this week, in our mini-van. He's got 4-5 aquariums, tons of houseplants and four cats to go. The heavy furniture will be moved next Sunday by our SIL and friends. I will be glad when he gets moved in and quits agonising over the past, decisions, and wanting everything just so in the new place. It is really nice and he got a great deal, but he cannot go a day without worrying over things that are in the past, may never happen, or aren't fitting into his idea of how it should go.

M starts school on Wednesday. He's excited. It's supposed to get to 99 that day and high 90s the rest of the week, too. By now, it is supposed to be cooling down a bit!

Later,
