Not long after our son was born, we had a bat in our house. I took our infant into our bedroom and closed the door while my now ex trapped the bat in a large brandy snifter that had been filled with fruit and received as a gift. He slipped something flat under the inverted snifter and brought it into the bedroom to show me how beautiful it was and how fine its wings were. I told him to just get it out of the house! (Obviously the marriage was doomed!) We were already divorced when a duck came in through the wood stove, but that's another story.
