I tried JB's tune finder and found lots of versions of the Kerry Polka.

Every one I tried included semi quavers. I only have a choice of two note lengths; long and short.

Loads of tunes fit that, the limit of 40 notes is the real bugger. You get half way through the second run through of the tune where it's about to resolve, but run out of notes way too early...
