Bottom line, we have shifted the tax burdens down to the working class and poor... The rich love to spew out stats where they pay the ____% (pick a number, it changes every time I hear one spew) of the "income taxes"... What they leave out is how much of the wealth they have corralled for themselves which is much greater than the taxes they pay...

But the elephant in the room is regressive taxes which they avoid talking about like radiation... These taxes have have doubled and even tripled in some states and the working class and poor are carrying the load here and it one heavy load... I'm talking sales taxes, taxes on power bills, internet, user fees, permits, etc.... There are hundreds of these regressive taxes raking in trillion$$$ every year and being paid disproportionately by the working class and the poor...

As for the tax rates for the rich??? They are a joke... Warren Buffet was entirely correct in pointing out that his actual tax rate is half what his secretary's is... I mean, lets get real... Even to so called "progressive income tax" ain't progressive at all... It's regressive...

Oh, and Don is correct about the fascists... One of the things that Hitler did early on was buddy up with the "industrialists" (that's what the corporatists were called back then...)

I'm with Don... I can't take too much more erosion of the country... It is on the verge of being a failed state where Ayn Rand and John Galt just run around a "Mad Max After the Thunderdome" nation getting over on others and surviving while starving out who ever gets in their way...
