Thread Name: Why were my messages deleted?
Subject: RE: Why were my messages deleted?
I note that the last post by Marcia still showed "GUEST, Marcia..." indicating that she's still not logged in.

At the top of the "front page" where the list of threads is shown, there's a "Quick Links" box. Clicking the arrow will roll down a list of the links, and "Log In" should be right at the top. Click "Log In" and then the "Go" button.

At the Log In page, type your "user name" and and the password you used when you joined us.

The "quick check" for whether you're logged in is the appearance of your user name at "From:" in the box where you type a new post, at the bottom of any thread. If it shows "GUEST" you probably will want to Log In before posting. That way we'll all know what you look like here, and you'll be able to easily find all your previous posts.

In a thread where you've posted, clicking your name at a post will take you to a list of all the posts made (using that name). Clicking your name (or anyone else's) in the list of posts at the top of the thread will take you directly to the specific post in the thread.

Deleting the cookie you get from mudcat will effectively "log you out" but at least in my browser, if "mudcat.org" is listed as a trusted site, using Windows "disk cleanup" won't remove your mudcat cookie even if you check the "delete cookies" so (usually) you'll still be logged in the next time you come back.

Most people here just leave themselves logged in when they come and go, and some have been logged in for so long they forget how to fix it if their cookie gets broken and they need to do it again.
