I think I feel a distinction between song tunes and country dance tunes. Song tunes seem easier to hang on to because the words help so much. Dance tunes generally have more notes and certainly take me much longer to learn. As I said above, they seem to slip off the working roster if I leave them alone.

Dance tunes seem to be my challenge - working collections of hundreds or even thousands is very impressive - is this common?
