Back to Tea Party talk, Michelle Bachman says the natural disasters hitting the East Coast are due to God being pissed off at politicians for not lowering taxes. She later said it was all a joke, but I noticed that she managed to get the words out there anyway. I think that the fact that she made that sort of "joke" after the publicity surrounding her oddball religious views means it was a calculated move. She's terribly strange, but she's no dummy.

What I wonder about, since the Tea Party is the biggest and newest thing in D.C. these days, how does one avoid the assumption that if God is talking to us with hurricanes, he's talking about the Tea Party?
