Made me wonder when the small Indian mongoose was introduced to the Caribbean to fight rats.
Four males and 5 females were imported in 1872 and released on a sugar plantation north of Kingston, Jamaica. They learned the multiplication table and spread rapidly, and soon were introduced to the other Caribbean Islands and Hawai'i.
