My Mother used to sing this song to me when I was a little girl, it always made me cry as my Mother would sing it with such feeling.

This was the one song I always asked her to sing to me over and over.

I am a Canadian - my Mother's Mother sang it to her and she was from England.

My Mom now has dementia and I thought perhaps if I could sing this song to her she might remember who I am.   Thank goodness for google because I don't know how I would have found the words otherwise, I could remember only a few.   I am 64 now and my Mom is 88.
