Thread Name: Keith Marsden Tribute Concert-Morley UK, 10 Sept
Subject: RE: Keith Marsden Tribute Concert-Morley UK, 10 Sept
In response to 12barblues' post above:

For the record, the songs that are not being performed at the concert are:-
Crack Your Whip (Keith's very early foray into songwriting),
Tortoises Always Come Last (Keith's very last song, for which he never actually got round to writing a tune - the Cockersdale recording uses the tune supplied by Chris Sugden some years later),
and The Vampire (not strictly a Keith Marsden song as such, but his musical setting of words by Kipling).
And yes, before you ask, that makes three items not two!

The reason for their non-inclusion in the concert is in the end primarily one of time constraint. However, at the time the organiser was arranging and co-ordinating the performers, there were none amongst the known available pool of artists who had any of those three songs within their specific repertoire/s (whereas, as you can imagine, half an evening could have been filled from multiple renditions of Bring Us A Barrel alone!).
Although (as is often the way with events arranged on short lead-times) potential candidates have since been located, the tightly coordinated event and venue availability do not at this late stage allow for a further 15-minute extension to what is already a very full advertised programme.

Only one day to go now...
See you there.
