A lot of people don't realise that there are two sides of Malaga. There is the touristy part which concentrates itself around the coast, and there is the old town which is a little off the beaten track.

I have not been there for a few years but back then you would certainly find plenty of "trad" music. However it would be the traditional Spanish music.

There were a number of Spanish bars that featured "folk" music and not just "tourists flamenco". Can't recall any of the names now but I am sure that you should be able to find something if you look hard enough.

Remember though that Spanish bars and restaurants in the South tend to open late in the evening - earliest 10.00pm and many at or after midnight.
