Polls show this may not be true. Independents dislike Obama, but they seem to dislike Republican obstructionism even more. Republicans boast that they won't support any bill that raises taxes by a penny, no matter what else it might cut. They're not even trying to find a way to spin villainous "tax hikes" into reassuring "new revenues," even though they were able to do so when Bush, Sr., was in office.

And at this point, I wonder how many outside the Tea Party even recognize "class warfare" as an allusion to socialism. Remember, two-fifths of adults reject the theory of evolution.
