Well, what he says is pretty straightforward and obvious, but it is seldom easy to directly trace a fantasy to any specific past event or family attitude.
Sometimes it's just the desire for variety......but I suppose the desire for variety, as opposed to plain, regular and familiar can be presumed to be a matter of upbringing and accidental events.

Look at 'food'...my favorite metaphor to explain sex. We know gourmet cooks who love new items and spices and flavors. We also know those who could eat hamburger with catsup everyday. (I can expand on the metaphor at great length)

*shrug* My past (childhood) was fairly tame...my family didn't do much, and did NOT talk about sex...so I learned what I learned from books mostly...(no, not from 'the guys'...I didn't trust their superficial treatment..*grin*)
