I've read some of Thom Hartmann's writing. He's a brilliant man.

As for being "opposed to evolution", it seems like a self-defeating position to me. We are all evolving, every day of our lives. I gather, though, that the phrase refers specifically and ONLY to being opposed to Darwin's Theory of Evolution. If so, it's a very narrow take on the situation, because that's only one way of looking at evolution, and I think evolution happens in a harmonized way on a number of quite different levels, not all of them evidenced by physical changes in organisms which can be quantifiably documented using the tools of science.

But that's something that probably has not occurred to either Perry, Bachman, and Romney....or many of their most dedicated "liberal" political foes. You've got a set of religious fundamentalists on one side and a set of material science fundamentalists on the other hurling brickbats at each other, each certain that they KNOW the ONLY way to "the Truth". To them it's all about Darwin vs the Bible. That would be like thinking that the entire great field of world politics is all about the Green vs the Orange in Ireland (and about nothing else whatsoever). Fine if you think so....laughable if you don't.
